In the days in which I had been battling my cough and drifting in and out of my sleep/sedation, I had little glimpse of the above 3 topics which I would probably be what alot of people are talking about out there. I am not in politics and never have been therefore what I have written in my blog are solely my own comments nothing else. It is not meant to condemn anyone.
Let's start with the local scene. With Datuk Seri (with due respect) Anwar Ibrahim's being back in Parliament. Well, to start with I was never his supporter and will never be. I grew up under the Barisan Nasional government in which Sarawak had a strong hold and will always vouch for them because over the years I had seen what they had done to the country. I am not even sure if Anwar will be the "ideal prime minister" that he self proclaimed to be. Will his radical views be accepted by the non-radical Malaysians? I might be wrong, so we will have wait and see what comes out of it.
The 2009 Budget - well, I will say it wont affect me much. My annual income is more than 40K so the tax rebate increment doesnt do me justice. It is geared towards the lower income group which is good. But for there there is nothing much to really shout about.
Barrack Obama - Barrack Obama is the first black democract presidential candidate nominee in US for their coming election in November. The fact that Obama is being elected goes to show that America is indeed ready for change and perhaps to embrace a more racial unity, which they hope Obama will be able to bring forth. Although not knowing much about American politics nor the man himself, I am after all a product of the education system and America will always be close to my heart. I sure hope Barrack Obama will make history by being the first black president in America and given his slightly Asian roots, will be able to further strenghten bi-lateral relations between US and Asia. I look forward to the day when we Malaysian do not have to apply for visa when visiting the US like our Singapore counter parts.
